lift but it does not raise the car high enough to remove the old exhaust(I
even tried raising the car at the end of the garage and use the slant of the driveway for more room). I checked and there are no places where I live that rent bays and lifts.
Has anyone used an alternative, safe method to do this?
Thanks in advance for any and all replies

When I did mine I had a humvee jack but I was still very nervous about the angle. I literally got everything unbolted and ready to pull out, then raised it up for 30 seconds to yank the exhaust off so I was never under it.
Also so if you haven't already, unbolt the sway bar.

If you want to preserve them then you may need to take the car to an independent shop in the area. I know you said nobody in the area rents bays or lifts, but there must be a local muffler shop/auto repair shop that can do it for you? I checked google maps for your area, and it seems pretty populated and commercialized with 55 square miles in total.

Can't imagine they would charge more than a few bucks to unbolt and pull out. You can drive home without the mufflers and do the new install yourself since the pipes over the axles are typically two piece units on aftermarket systems. Unless you are going to a Ti unit from a Z06.
The other option I have seen on here is driving the car up on a loading dock and backing over the edge. I couldn't think of any place around me to do that and I'd be afraid of going too far back if alone.
Others have simply gone for it with a couple of jacks.

Whatever you do, be safe. I'm lucky in that I have a lift at home but you can always go to an exhaust shop and ask them to swap it for you. I've had that done and it's pretty cheap to let a shop do it as it doesn't take long on a lift.

I'm going to look into having a shop do this. I am replacing the oem with a ti exhaust, so I need the room for the install. I'm hoping someone on the forum can use the oem, just handle shipping so I want to avoid cutting. I'm not a mechanic but thanks to the forum I have grown used to trying things on my own so not being able to complete this is disappointing.
Thanks for the reply
