Ordered some new rubber for the Z06 last week. Went with a softer compound this time -- Potenza RE-11. Tire Rack drop shipped them to my local Firestone yesterday. Will get them installed and have the car aligned on Friday. Super excited to see how these tires perform, and how long they will last

Way to go!!! I have the RE-11 and RE-11A on my '03 and I simply love them. To be fair though, I think I was the only one driving a Vette with these tires until I saw your post this morning, so to there being two of us now! (Wolf pack of 2?)
Anyways, what I have found is that these tires are like driving on flypaper, especially when it is hot out. Below about 55F, they start to get a little slippery and below 45F you run the risk of cracking the tires (from what I recall reading about the rubber compound used).
Hoping you have many miles of smiles on your new shoes.
With a rating of 200 A A, they should grip big time but, 200 rating means you'll get shorter life. Expect 20-25K miles out of them but at least they'll be fun miles.

Did your Z06 have run flats? Just asking because my local Firestone store said it was company policy to not install non-run flats on any car that came with the RF's. That's why I bought my Potenza's from Discount Tire instead of Tire Rack.

Z06s did not come with run flats. They came with a repair kit.

Might be even less than that!!! I had read up before buying and had seen write ups indicating it might be in the 12k to 18k range depending on how agressive you are.
For me, this was never a concern as my Vette is a toy and I drive it as such. If that means new tires every 18k, so be it. If you are daily driving though, these are not the tires for you.
One other point worth discussing, I have heard the MPSS have basically one hero lap in them and then the grip falls off. As I have never owned the MPSS, I don't know if this is true but I do know the RE-11 never seems to give up the ghost!
Got the tires installed today along with 4 wheel alignment. Initial impressions are: good ride quality, good responsiveness, low noise. I only drive it a few miles, so obviously will need more seat time in order to judge. I have a big road trip planned at the end of the month, which should give me a great opportunity to evaluate the tires.

...Never thought a set of tires could steal away my masculinity
