While cleaning my radiator, I removed the fan shroud, and a rubber thing fell off, I am not sure where this belongs. can someone please explain. see picture

Between the upper radiator cowl/cover and the top a/c line. The cowl fits in the "groove" in the rubber and is just an interference fit. Keeps them from rubbing together.
I flushed my radiator about three weeks ago and first noticed this little bubba bumper before I took off the top radiator support. I wonder how many owners have lost theirs after removing the plastic support. Definitely a bubba design.
Ya made me get up out of my chair, leave my office, go upstairs (had to stop and pet the cat and dog), go out to the garage, turn on the lights, open up my Corvette, pop the hood, grab a flashlight, all just to see if I had this part. What I found was a big: NOPE So....where do I get one?

I'm sure that GM bubba bumper is missing on almost every C5 if the radiator support was removed. It's not securely attached and easy to miss if it falls off into the engine compartment.
I still have mine, but it is not installed on the car. I've not seen any issues with either a hose or a line hitting the top radiator cover.
Mine has fallen off, a couple of times, but has managed to either land on the garage floor, or find a nook under the hood, where I found it when I was cleaning up the car. I really didn't know for sure where it went, until this thread. I put it on the car, and secured it with a dab of RTV, but in all honesty, couldn't see how the A/C hose would contact the shroud....
96,875 miles on my '01 convertible and it's still in place! I can't believe it.
Ut oh. Better change that coolant.
I'm thinking that bubba bumper is for putting pressure on the a/c line for some reason. The radiator support is a ways from the line so it's not for keeping them from rubbing.

Coolant was changed about 3,000 miles back,...what does that have to do with the rubber bumper thingie??
