Default Lowering my 2000

I put my car in the shop last Wednesday to have a few minor problems addressed. While It's there I decided to have it lowered on the stock bolts (I'm hoping 1/2 to 1 inch). When I get it home I might have a problem getting it up the driveway. Does anyone make a air ride suspension for a C5? I'm hoping that it doesn't scrape too much hen I get it back but I want to be prepared.

Don't know about air suspension for a vette. But my car scrapes every time I drive in or back out of my driveway, but it's just the air dam that scrapes and the middle part is spring loaded so it may sound awful but there's little to no damage done. If that's what you have to deal with then your fine. JMHO

If it's just the air dam, there's nothing to worry about. It's made to be a reasonably cheap, sacrificial piece. If you can, try coming into your driveway at an angle. I'm lowered all the way and have found that can help quite a bit.

This! I make my approach to my driveway at the curbline almost parallel to the curb or perpendicular to the driveway and ease up onto while gradually turning towards the path up the driveway or down and out of the driveway onto the street. You would be surprised at what you can navigate if you take this severe angle.

I'm lowered an inch all around on my '99 and see no more scrapping than I did prior. You're always going to have issues with the air dams and that's why replacements are plentiful and (relatively) cheap. For approximately an inch of lowering turn the nuts on the bolts around 7 to 8 full turns. That got me in the area of an inch. The car will likely sit a little higher to the same right after you get the car back on the ground but after you've driven it for 40-50 miles it will settle. I'm going to try another inch but I have a feeling I'll eventually see coilovers in my future.

not sure about the air ride...but I am just extra careful entering exiting my driveway and parking lots....also around speed bumps. I just go slow and use angles as much as possible.

Default I got the car back today.

I picked up the C5 this morning on my way to work. It doesn't look that much lower but I can tell the difference getting in and out of the car. The real tell will be tonight when I get home from work. The CARBON FIBER SPLITTER that's on the front of the car is what will rub but trying to go in and out at a different angle may be the answer.... Thanks to everyone for the feedback I'll will let you know tomorrow how it goes. Thanks

Yes I did have them re aligned the car. I made it home from work and put the car in the garage without too much trouble. The splitter did rub the street a little but it will never show until the car is on a lift in a service garage. Thanks for all the information.
