Cats bad?
I've read multiple posts on cats and while I've learned the funky rotten egg smell means blocked cats, I was confused by some of what I read. I got the impression the smell is constant. My exhaust seems to be the normal exhaust odour when idling or driving. I only smell a change on hard acceleration. Since I have no idea what a rotten egg smells like I am assuming this slightly sulfur smell is the same. But I do have to mash down on the pedal to get the smell. So are my cats blocked?

Yes, that sulfur smell is the cats. A lot of times it isn't too noticeable unless under a load or heavy throttle (like climbing a long hill). I notice it quite a bit especially with a new car. So I don't think it means your cats are blocked.

Safety Car
Mine were the same way, only stunk when you gave the car a little lovin. Totally normal. You have to realize that, near WOT, the car starts dumping extra fuel as it enters performance enhancement mode. Anything outside of stoich and low load is too much for the cats to keep clean.
