I have a 99 with "spears" in the coves. I would guess they are attached with double sided tape. Any suggestions on how to remove these? Thank you in advance.
Heat gently back and forth near tape with a blow dryer or heat gun on moderate heat setting to soften the adhesive. Use fishing line to "saw" between the tape and panel to separate the tape from the body. Use Goo Gone or equivalent to remove adhesive from paint.
IMHO, my '03 EB coupe would look better without the "spears" but having researched this subject on the forum previously I discovered a couple of posters that claimed that they damaged the clear coat on the sides of their cars.
How can I avoid it? Perhaps the moderate heat mixed with patience?
... and in the case of the 'old yeller', body coloured mud flaps are even worse! If some one feels they really need them ( I'd move from that dirt road) get black ones so they blend in with the tires. Being body color, they stick out like a sore thumb.
How many Fcars, Lambo, McLaren, Porsche have you seen with mud flaps???
