That's a pretty good chunk of labor. I think you are looking at around 2 grand or more.

Default Topic line says replacement PARTS estimate

Body text says labor estimate. It 15 to 18 hours labor. Times hourly labor rate. Around here labor is 80 to 120 an hours depending on the shop.

Seems like a more reasonable labor, a shop in Miami wants to charge me $3k+

Get a competing estimate...there are some really good shops down here.
Corvette shops. Horsepower sales in Palm Beach is worth the drive and the rental car. Just my .02.

the most intensive labor cost seems to be the fuel pump, late 2003 C5 model

I personally would not take parts to a shop and have them installed. I learned this the hard way when I was 17 years old. The clutch went out in on old crappy Honda Civic I had at the time. I bought a new clutch and pressure plate plate thinking about doing the job myself. Well I Chickened out and decided it was beyond something I should try and paid a shop to put it in. As luck would have it the new one went out two months later and the shop said If they did something wrong they will fix it but if it is the part I have to pay them to do it again. As luck would have it the part was bad. They let me stand there and watch it be taken apart. So I had to pay twice for this job.
I learned right then to never take parts to a shop. When they furnish the part and labor the entire job is on them. When I furnish the part it is on me.

If I had the cash I tell my mechanic to add 800 rwhp like a boss but that's not my case , I have to choose my parts wisely based on other peoples experience and this back and forward takes me tremendous amount of time in research , it's called the power of the Internet and without it I do not think it could be possible......But I get better parts on my car and more acknowled in the process.....I take my chances
