Hi, I just got a 99 Red Corvette Convert with tan top and tan interior. Love the car so far! I also have a 75 Stingray that is in great condition. Both fun cars!
The question I have is th instrument display at the bottom of the cluster with battery, tire pressures etc keeps going thru the different information and I can't get it to change to blank or to get the odometer reading. It seemed ok when I got the car but now keeps going thru the information, is it something I can change or is it the instrument cluster itself ? Just curious if anyone else has had the same problem and if they were able to fix it. Thanks

Is it changing all by itself? As in showing oil pressure, then oil temp, then coolant temp then.....? If so, sounds like a button is stuck or sticking.

It changes from battery to tire pressures to oil pressure etc. I have tried pushing all the buttons but it still continues to roll thru the information centre. It is changing by itself. It won't allow the other buttons to be used like the fuel or English to metric. Thanks

Well, if it were me - I'd replace the DIC switch first, they are like $60 for a good used one on eBay. However, I am not an expert and I'm sure you will get better advice soon.

Before you replace anything, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it.

I would bet it is a stuck switch, "gages" to be exact. Mess with it, if that doesn't work time to replace. It's not that hard to do but it is time consuming.

Try the battery disconnect first, but then do this:

Welcome! You could also try cleaning it with some electrical parts cleaner. I would suspect that would fix the issue quickly and easily.

Not so sure about that. Have you seen the backside of that switch? The only holes are for the lights, other than that - you'd have to cut it up.

i would have literally just soaked the outside of it pretty good. Without removing it from the car at all.

Like me I said, worth a shot
