First gear problems.

Default First gear problems.
2002 Z06
spec clutch
aluminum flywheel
tick master.

Last few days my car had been jumping and some time grinding shifting from neutral to first from a stop about 20 percent of the time.

I bleed the master and adjusted the pedal some more and it seemed to get worse.

Any input?

Common problem with these cars/transmission. My car does it too. I just shift to 2nd then back to 1st. Seems to work 95% of the time.

uggg i hate t56's

i figured it might be a hydraulic problem.
i may try a swap to syncromesh fluid

i replaced the main shaft and 5th gear and syncro last year and everything else looked in good shape.

my clutch used to rattle at idle with the light flywheel.
Now it seems to be gone, i wounder if my pilot bearing is the issue.

When is the last time you did a shifter alignment? It is worth trying as it doesn't cost anything but time.

That's my next step.
I have it on jack stands now and the wheels are not spinning with clutch in and first gear.

If i go to second first its fine!

Finally noticed when going into first it spins rear tires like half a revolution.

still ok from second. so it may be a clutch problem.
