I know there are a million posts, I however can't find any definitive info. 2003 z06 looking for wheels, black concave not factory replacements. I don't mind spending some money just not 6k. Thanks in advance for your input.
You would want to look for cast wheel options, which can be had in Corvette fitment. The thousands of dollars you're seeing is primarily for forged wheels.
You'll pay for it in the quality though; forged is much more preferable to cast in that 1) forged typically looks better and 2) they're much, much stronger [easier to balance, less likely to be out-of-round, etc]. Many reproduction wheels are cast (hence their cost) and you do sometimes take your chances with them.
Keep an eye in the for sale section and the corvette groups on FB. You can even get lucky and find them on craigslist. I found my forgelines on craiglist for 2200. If you want something new a lot of people like forgestar wheels.

concave either black or chrome. Not partial to either currently. Was thinking black until I saw GBVettes wheels. Company is out of business now

Lots of nice looking wheels out there - Cray, Forgeline, etc. Try a search on the forum using wheels as a search term - it should come up with plenty of hits.
