Default Shocks and swaybars

From what I have searched, found and read, I need to replace my shocks and possibly upgrade my swaybars. I have the F45 type shock system, and I am definitely not going to replace my shocks with new f45 shocks. It seems that a good choice is the C6 Z06 shocks. These are well priced with most people liking them. And some people recommend the C6 z51 sway bars for the C5. Mine is a 2001 Coupe, M6, and pretty much stock right now.

Most of the searches I have done seem to be a few years old.

My question is: Is this still one of the nicest choices or is there anything nicer or newer going on??

My car is not a track car. But I feel my shocks are just not working like they should, as I can feel no difference with I switch from one mode to another. I realize I would need to delete the f45 programming using a Tech II or go with the shock simulators.

Any guidance, help, recommendations, or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much..

I went with the Cultrag suggestion of C6 Z06 shocks and the Z51 sways. Great handling.

The setup you mention is very good and for the money, hard to beat.

Cultrag set me up with C6 ZO6 shocks and swaybars. That along with using Lowering Bolts, significantly changed the handling of my 2000 C5 coupe with 500+HP.

The suspension upgrade is actually one of my favorite mods, and it did not affect the ride much at all.

C6 Z51 rear sway bar
The C6 Z06 shocks will work on C5’s without modification.
ac delco Z06 shocks
Rear: 25819268
Front: 10313647

And while you're at it, change the sway bar end links to the upgraded ones.
GM part #20822934-2

These are all direct fit, plug and play, no hassles.

Best bang for the dollar on improving the C5's handling.

Sorry to beat a dead horse but I have the F55's on my 04 CE Vert and they are shot. Only 68K nothing happens whether I use Tour or Sport. A while back my vette mechanic said it was leaking just a bit but nothing to worry about (the right front). I'm thinking about the Z06 shock swap and I keep hearing about great handling, but what about ride quality. Mine's an everyday driver on pot hole roads etc and I feel every bump and thump. I'm looking for an easier ride / feel for my daily driver. I don't race it, just the occasional 0- to 80 on the entrance ramps Etc. Do the Z06 shocks improve the ride like I'm looking for or am I looking at something else? Thanks in advance

from what I've read the c6z shocks are still very compliant, but it won't improve ride quality over well functioning f55's in touring mode.

I highly doubt youll be disappointed with them, plenty of people frequently drive their cars with the c6z/z51 bars upgrade.

By any chance have you checked whether or not the shock stuffers are in there?

I have a 2001 base. Did the C6 Z06 shock swap. I paired them with C6 Z51 sways. Gonna take it to Inde Motorsports on Aug 31 so we'll see how the work on a big track.
