Just my opinion, but they made a lot of the Anniversary Edition cars so the chance of it being a true collectible is pretty slim. That said, it is a desirable car because it is pretty much a fully equipped car with a gorgeous paint color. Generally a well kept model will bring a premium over any other '03 Vette (with the exception of perhaps a Z06).
Read the the stickies at the top of the page on buying a Corvette and newbies must read as well as on in the C5 Tech section on weights, measurements, etc.
My opinion, and I own one, a convertible. NO, they are not "collectable" anymore than any other C5. They are IMHO, however one of the most attractive color combinations in the C5 line up. You will be quite pleased with the car, but don't expect any appreciation in value. Again my opinion, and pricing tends to bear out, the chrome bumper C3 are the last Vettes's to hold or appreciate. Although there has been some upward movement in the later year C3 market. C4's are in the toilet, except the ZR1 and the C5's will probably be there sooner rather than later.
Don't be discouraged, the C5 is a great car and a fantastic performance bargain. The right car will put a huge smile on your face. Read some of the stickies at the top and you'll get a good idea of things to look for. Of course a repurchase inspection and perhaps help from a local forum member are good ideas too before committing to a specific car. Good luck with your search, the Anniversary Package cars are "special", you won't be disappointed.

The 50th AE was a $5K option in 2003. Fully loaded with an awesome color combo inside and out, as well as unique badging on the fenders and such. But they made a lot of them. Used car pricing on a well-kept low mile AE coupe is about the equivalent to a low mile well-kept 2003 vert IMO.
When shopping for an AE, make a point to make sure there are no 'shock stuffers' in the shocks (no biggie if they are in there, just make sure to take them out) and that the F55 shocks are not leaking. Good luck in your search, I searched for mine for several months before I found the right one.
One of the vette magazines regularly flogs car pricing, if I remember correctly, that option is worth about $500 . Of course, they get their prices from the web, so check there, as published stuff might not apply to your area, and is certainly out of date.
I have a black 03 and enjoy the anniversary badging, it adds a little separation from other identical cars. No C5 is going up, unless there is such a thing as investment grade old C5's.
I think the anniversary option very pretty, and would enjoy the car every time I drove it.
The only drawback is the paint is unusual, so not every shop can handle paint repair and matching, the clear coat is tinted. My black car avoids that, but is not as zippy in the looks department.
oH, just remembered, as the interior trim pieces go away, only black plastic is left in pproduction, if that. I only hear about the need to paint replacement interior pieces. The carpet hold down, and the screw covers for the door handles I needed, could only be had in black at the dealer. Not a big deal, but throwing cold water is kind of expected from old guys, so I threw it in.
Like everyone has posted with 11,632 of them made, the odds on it becoming a collectible are slim. Greatest color Corvette of all time and kind of sorry I traded mine. Have to admit I really do like my 60th Anniversary Edition. Good luck with the search it's half the fun of owning one sometimes.
The fact that they made a lot of them will probably put a damper on the collector car festivities, but you never know. In 40 years who knows what kind of cars will be on the road and who knows if internal combustion engines will be extinct (I hope not). If I had money laying around to buy a Vette that may become a real collector car within the next 15 or 20 years, I'd be going after a 96 Grand Sport. And then have a very hard time not driving it EVERYWHERE.
Welcome and best wishes with your search. As Sonny said, the search is fun in itself. Reading the stickies that Jack mentioned will give you much appreciated information that will help with your search. Please let us know how you do.
I bought one a couple of years ago. I love it. It has almost 120k on the clock, but starts up every time. Probably won't ever be a collectible, but I bought it to drive it not store it.
You can roughly count on half of one hand the type of C5s that may be collectable at some foreseeable point in the future. The 50th Anniversary is not one of them.
I've got my eye one. Not because I think it has any collector value but because I find it very sharp looking. I imagine looking at in the driveway while having coffee and smiling. I'll buy one to drive on weekend road trips.

Shock stuffers?
If the one you're looking at is in Spicewood TX (dealer) PM me

I know of one that's not for sale until the title clears. It has around 78,000 miles and looks a little rough but not bad, really. The dash is cracked near the HUD, so if only black replacements are available that could be a big letdown.
