Default Hidden Cupholder?

Anybody know what cupholder this is? This was posted in the tech/tune side which has nothing to do with that, but I saw it and I really like the looks and how out of the way it is. Anybody know what cupholder this is?

Thanks!

Looks completely custom, but probably something Dennis at Double D mods can do.

Did the bezel come from a Mad Max set?

IIRC it was my mom's old 1980's Dodge Caravan that had a similar pull out cup holder. Definitely a decently done re-install, seen other people do moves of this type of cup holder.

Interesting modification to the dash. Has to be a better cup holder than the factory one.

Naw. With it popped out it looks to be held on both the left and right from the install base. If anything the only short comings it appears to have would be 1) it's very small and 2) if a can sweats it could drip on the console.

It's a pretty good idea though. The OEM cup holder may be the second biggest interior design mistake on the C5 other than the manual transmission shift ****.

best option for C5 or C6 - - about $35 at most vendors.

He hadn't finished prepping it, so he was about to paint it from what it sounds like from his post. I did find the cupholder, it's a cupholder from a VW Passat B5. Older car, I'm going to go to the junkyard and see if I can't aquire one. I want to do something like the BMW Cupholders, I think that would be cool. But I don't want it directly right there in the radio, I wish there was a way to flip that so it opened and banana'd to the right toward the passenger. I don't like the cupholders in the passenger footwell. I don't wanna reach over there and I don't wanna intrude on passenger space. And I don't like the behind me cupholders in the center console. There's really no good place for it unfortunately.
