First I would like to thank all the forum members that helped and answered all the questions I had. I think the advice to read all the sticky notes and be patient really steered me in the right direction. i am attaching several pictures and hopefully will be able to help someone else in the future with questions they may have. I have added the corvette to my regular insurance but will now start shopping around with the NCM insurance and others. My regular insurance will not cover the value that I paid but I understand the NCM does on an agreed amount. Couldn't"t really tell what my insurance would cover. My current insurance will let me drive as much as I want and the "speciality" insurance has restrictions on mileage and usage. Any thoughts-I would like the vehicle covered close to my investment cost.

Thanks,

First congrats on beautiful looking corvette! Now regarding Agreed Value check around I wasn't able to use NCM on my 17 cause they told me they couldn't insure in New York State. I went with American Modern which is a giant insurance company in Germany and was referred to by NCM. I think they may be there parent company. There are restriction with this type of policy. In my case I must have another car for DD other than Corvette, must be stored in garage , can't be used to run errands such as going to grocery store. As for mileage I was able to find a mileage amount that would work for me . Mine is stored 5 1/2 months. My car is used for fun runs ,cruise night, etc , so none of the restriction was a problem for me. Just do your home work and make sure what you can and can't do with policy.Dave

Congrats Bob on getting your C5. I have my car insured through the National Corvette Museum under an agreed value policy. Has worked out well for me even with the mileage and usage restrictions. Give the staff at the NCM Insurance Agency a call and discuss your needs and get a quote.

Bob, great looking car. Congratulations. When I bought my C5 3 years ago (age 71), I did not want a limitation on when/how I drive the Vette. I have a DD for those rainy/snowy days. I also did not care about an insured value because this is my fun car, not an investment (for me). I let my survivors figure out what to do with it when I am gone. BTW, I pay $500 a year for full coverage with $100 collision ded.

i understand wanting to protect your purchase but at the same time she is just to beautiful not to ride. i could not handle the restrictions that an insurance company would put on me. i like to drive to much!

beautiful ride again.
