I posted this on the Tech form and didn't get any feedback, so here we go.
2000 Auto Vert
Have been having electrical issues ( ABS, Traction control, service vetches)
DIC and idiot lights, radio and gauges stop working. Took car to a place that does Vette repairs told them to put a new ing.switch in it. Got a call saying it's not the switch, probably the BCM. But what pissed me off was they didn't leave the NEW switch in. So I paid labor to R&R the switch but Ended up with the original switch.
So my question is do I go for
A- ACDelco rebuild $450.
B- used $350 or
C- some cheap knockoff $150
D- New from dealer $950
Also any copitent Vette shop in Akron/Canton Ohio?
8Vette7,
I'm getting loss communication and any others, talking with a couple owners they said it was there Ing. switch. But as stated above the Tech said that didn't fix the problem. Now IDK why he didn't leave the new switch in after all the cost of the switch is minimal compared to the R&R labor. I'm curious as to the quality of the different BCM and what's others experience with them.
Post the codes and let some of the people here give you some input on what is happening. Of course you could just throw another part and some labor at it and still have the same issues. Your call.....
I'd also make real sure the battery is good. C-5s can start and drive with a marginal battery. weak batteries cause really weird problems.
