I have a question regarding Dark Bowling Green Metallic. I'm trying to get a couple of cans of touch-up paint, but everywhere I go, they call RPO 91U (DBGM), Polo Green. We all know that DBGM IS NOT Polo Green or Polo Green II . I've even called PPG and they call it Polo Green as well. PPG also has code WA 211A for the engine compartment. A different color code for the engine compartment?
Is this perhaps just marketing semantics? If I'm not mistaken, 2000-2001 DBGM has a tad more blue than the Polo Greens...or am I wrong? So the color codes I have are: Valspar G086, PPG 4235, DuPont D8871, Azko GMA90:91, and WA 9529. The weird thing is the WA code. WA 9529 was the same code used by C4's for Polo Green... ...so something doesn't seem right here. Can someone help me out as to what the Hell is going on? I'd like to get the right color.
Wow, what a PITA and so sorry you had to learn all this the hard way. Geez, it should be this hard to find out the correct paint. In your previous thread, I did like the dealer that said DBGM didn't exist (custom paint from the factory? Please!) Hahahaha! Guy really knows his stuff, huh? And your hood pic proves what I remember...that DBGM is NOT Polo Green! Thanks you very, very much!
As an FYI, a spoke with Paintscratch.com and with mrr23's paint info (RPO 47, WA 9539), was able to get them to list DBGM as an available color. They're calling it Medium Green Pri Metallic (for some reason), but at least it's a touch-up source. Whether the color actually matches remains to be seen - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
The problem with paint matching is there are 5 versions of wa9539. I had my car repainted. They used the first version instead of the 2nd version. You can see in the picture that my car on the left is brighter than the right car with original paint
Amazing that GM dealers didn’t have the right codes and the RPO listing was incorrect.

I'm a DBGM owner as well and nothing out of a can will match, there is a Honda & a GMC green that are close but not exact
This is mine

Oh sh*t, yeah it figures... Stupid paint. Your car looks very nice, but one can see a distinct difference. Ah, just noticed you have one of those nifty front ends on yer car. Forget who makes that, but looks good!
