I just bought a 2001 Z06 with almost 20k on the clock.
I am in the process of making the car "mine" by checking and replacing filters, fluids, etc. When changing the air filter, I noticed the one I removed was a K&N type filter, which I saved. There is no part number, manufacturer, etc. on the old filter.
I was expecting to see a paper type filter that I would have presumed to be original, given the mileage.
Pretty obscure question, but I was wondering if anyone had any insights?
Lots of people throw a K&N filter in for perceived performance increase or easy maintenance (even though they are actually more work). The original is just paper.
