I would give them time to break in...possibly after a month or two you will be happier with them.

I'm happy now after the tire swap. The old tires felt rock hard.

Did I miss it, whose bushings did you go with?

I used Prothane bushings.

Labor rates are different in every area.

It is about 8 hours work if you are set up for it. Few shops are.
There are some good YT video's on how to do it.

What you pay may be substantially less than what I did.

Today I took a drive form JAX Beach to see Doc at EFI Alchemy down in Green Cove springs Fl about some tuning.

There was road construction and 80mph traffic on the way home. There was every kind of road issue you would ever want to see with a C5.

The car runs smooth, (smooth for a sports car).

I am totally happy with the way it drives now.

I just ordered C6Z brakes because there is a substantial amount of brake fade with the stock brakes. Traffic here moves at 75-85mph on the interstate. You can pass people at over 100mph and change lanes. I will say that this mod did inspire confidence at those speeds.
The C5 brakes are a little lacking when they get hot IMO.

the braking issue really comes down to the rotors too, two piece rotors REALLY change the braking characteristics. For the money though I'd go with R1 concepts BBK over factory GM parts.

It's really funny you said that because I ordered R1 concepts rotor kit.
I don't have any experience with them.
I went with Corvette calipers because I don't race much. The highway traffic here is bad enough to warrant better brakes.

The stock brakes look small with the bigger C6Z rims. Most full sized family sedans have bigger brakes than the C5 now.

R1 is owned by family, but they really did design an incredible BBK. Martin gave me **** for using a Stoptech kit on my mustang but decided to give their kit a shot on the vette and I'm glad I did. Easily the best BBK I've used at the price point.

Nice brake set up. They look expensive.
I went the cheaper rout. I just wanted better street brakes that might see the track.
I ordered the one piece rotor kit. By the time they wear out, carbon ceramic rotors may be more common and affordable. If so it will save on some of the rotating mass.
The C6Z wheels are already substantially heavier.

R1 has already designed their own carbon rotors
Price is ~2100 depending on options

Oh that's not the carbon price, that's the base kit. I was afraid to even ask what the carbon rotors were going for.

You are not going to get C6Z carbon rotors cheep this year. Perhaps in the next few years.

I f history repeats its self then I would expect for carbon rotors to be budget friendly soon.

There is a huge benefit to them. They night last the life of the car without maintenance.

With the stock C5 set up there is substantial care for the brakes.

That eventually cost money!

Is anyone running front C6 Z06 knuckles 2010 and above?
To my understanding they are beefier and have a shorter arm that connects to the tie rods. If this is true then it would be a cheap handling mod.
If the tie rod point is shorter then you would have stiffer and more responsive steering.
If this is true then it would be the answer to the C5's lack of road feel issue.

You could also slow the power steering pump down as well with a larger pulley.

My rack and pinion has some slack in it and while I am changing the rack and brakes (and yet another alignment) I thought that the knuckle replacement might be worth doing. It seems to be one of the factors in the later C6 Z cars handling better.

I do agree about the stock pump pulley. I thought smaller would slow it down.

Nope, same premise as a blower pulley, smaller causes it to spin faster. Large pulley takes longer for the belt to travel for a full rotation.
