My hood emblem, after 17 years, looks like $hit. Found what I thought would be a great replacement. It has the GM hologram and is genuine.
Its photo steel, brand new, bright colors and cost $16.82. Its 6" x 2" and is beautiful. Its metal and won't bend for the hood...but I love it and its not going back. Purchased from Amazon from Midwest Corvette. Still need a hood emblem. Funny dilemma.
I'm taking a break now...doing a rear wheel bearing. No beer...yet.
You'll find out a real hood emblem will set you back about $50.
Yeah they're not cheap! I recently replaced the front and rear on my car after the originals had their vinyl pealing off and it makes a great difference!
You sure it won't bend? I obtained one of the chrome cast emblems, and used a 1X12 with some paint stir sticks, a bit of closet rod and a large C-clamp to put enough curve into it to almost match the nose. Add a bit of extra VHB to the top and bottom center and it looks quite fetching to my eyes.
