Hi folks.
I just joined so that you wouldn't continue wondering what happened to Vette Essentials.
It was my wife's business (we've been married almost 3 years now) and it got to the point that she didn't want to do it anymore.
The website is down, the phone is disconnected, and the email address isn't being accessed anymore. The machines and materials are sold and gone.
Sandy enjoyed dealing with the customers (I definitely couldn't do it) but the C5 and C6 are getting long in the tooth and orders dropped off. She can't sew C7 and later covers because the side airbag seams are extremely critical and must be sewn on certified machines for legal reasons.
The perimeter stripe was her original design. When you see it used anywhere else, remember that Sandy came up with it, not the other way around.
This is my first and last post, and as I don't know anything about Vette enthusiasts, please post this info on any other websites where people may be wondering what happened to Vette Essentials. Thank you for your interest and past business. It was a good run.

Sad news but thanks for the update. Best wishes to Sandy, Matt and all who worked so hard to offer top quality leather interior products for so many years.

Yeah, it sucks but I understand. Been there and done that.
I had just made the website one of my favorites and was looking at the instructions on taking out the center console. I went back the next day and boom the site didn't work.
Best of luck to them. She did a real quality job and I'm sure she will do good on whatever she does next.

Their instructions for disassembly/assembly were very helpful for a lot of interior work, not just seat recovering. It would be great if those documents could be made available on the forum. How would we go about getting that done?

Thanks for the update and all your previous work for the C5 generation. I still get regular compliments on the work you performed years ago and I do have the perimeter stripe.

There used to be some stickies on the C5 section regarding door panel removals and seat foam removals that referenced the VE website. I have hard copies on file.
Sad to hear this news, but good luck to Sandy in any endeavor she undertakes in the future. She was an absolute pleasure to work with on my seats and interior, a true lady in every way, and her craftsmanship was superb.
I am certainly glad I ordered my seats etc before the sad news of her closing business.
Here is a sample of her great work installed in my C5.

I knew I should have copied those pages just in case!
Could be that Vette Essential's demise was correlated with Double D's shutdown.
When I bought my seat covers from VE, Sandy told me that she and Dennis frequently collaborated on these, with VE ordering all of the leather, and then VE building the seat covers and certain interior parts and Double D building the rest.
Sandy gave me my choice of over 4,000 leather colors/textures from which to choose when ordering my seat covers from her. Now THAT was truly a custom interior.
I'm afraid that with VE's and Double D's demise, the days of getting a truly unique interior are now long gone.
