Default With Body Side Molding or Without ?

Was thinking of removing my body side molding. Like the look of C5's without it.

It’s your car, so make it look how you want it to look. I personally like the look of the body side moldings, but many don’t and they remove them. A hair dryer and some fishing line will get them off.

Those moldings are hideous and really make the car look dated .

I think my 2003 EBM looks better without the molding, but I've seen Silver vetts that look good with them on. Maybe color makes a difference, but for me I like plain sleek lines.

I prefer without. But would worry about it being darker paint underneath the molding.

That's one thing to consider. My car was always garaged so I don't think the paint is faded. Can just remove one of the short pieces and see how it looks.

Happy that I have them on my '98. Noticed a small ding in the molding which would have been in the middle of the door... Not a pretty sight...

Yup....seems to come up at least a couple of times a year.

If you like them keep them, if you don't take them off.
It's your ride, do with it as you please. No need to constantly ask....What do you guys think ?

Definitely without. Check out how much better this car looks without them.

Before:

and now without:

The ONLY difference between them is the second picture has the BSM's removed.

Just say "no" to side moldings. Keep Corvettes clean and smooth!

If I had ordered a C5 new, I think I would have passed on the BSM.

That said, my car has them. I've thought about removing them, but I wonder if the paint underneath would look different. It's not a big enough issue for me to worry about. So mine are staying.

For me it is just a non issue for looks of the car (mine is the only one that counts!) and it adds some protection to idiots that do not care how they get out of their vehicles.
