I agree 100%. I've looked at Z's for 4 years. I don't care if the Z has 80k or 100k+. Your going to pay 20k for a clean one. Anything in the 13-17k range will be junk. 7 owner cars with tasteless mods and who knows wtf they did to them. There is an 01 Z right now 5 miles from me with 14k miles. Dude wants 29k and won't budge. Yeah, it looks new. But in that case, I'd just go buy a C6Z.
To the OP, you got a great deal on a low mileage clean car. Huge congrats.

nice looking car....did you pay too much? i dont think, so you bought a premium car ( the color, style and miles you wanted) and you paid a with in reason price for it. not every thing can be purchased at a steal. good luck with it. bob

You apparently haven't looked in Texas because they can be found for under 20 here. At least in the DFW area. I'm too lazy to search in the Austin, San Antonio, Houston, or the other major cities.

. There were similar cars in my area as well with 70-90k on them for the same price. I plan on driving the car but didn't want a 5+ owner vehicle that has been beat and hacked up. Or in an accident w shotty bodywork. I wasn't just looking to get into a Corvette. Appreciate the replies!!

I'll add my two cents. I paid $20,278.00 for my 2003 C5. It had just rolled 20K on the odometer, I had the dealer put brand new Michelins on, along with new rotors. It doesn't have a scratch or ding anywhere to be found. I could have bought others for less, but they would have had high mileage, and needed things like tires. It took me two months of diligent looking to find it. It was 200mi. away from where I live. After seeing it & driving it, I also negotiated free delivery. The great deals are out there, you just have to be patient, and in some cases be willing to travel a bit to get them.

Looks good to me. A little low for my comfort but sounds like you've already made plans to raise it. Looks awesome. I love FRC's.

When I purchase a car, I consider basically one question... "what am I getting for what I am paying?"
IMHO, you got a heckuva car for $17k. No one wants to overpay by a ridiculous margin, but if you buy them to drive them, then a used C5/C6/C7 Corvette isn't going up in value, so there is no reason to even worry about the price once the deal is done.
These guys who say you overpaid ... maybe they flip cars every year or so, and if so... they aren't looking for a specific car like you were...they are going in looking for something they can make money on. Nothing wrong with that, IMHO.
But you got the color, model, and options you wanted in a very low mileage, what looks to be MINT car, and that is a GREAT car for what $17k will buy nowdays.

Mine isn't transportation. It's a hobby. I probably put well over 20K on it total and I don't dwell on it because life is short.
I have a beater truck that does what the Vette doesn't.
Your car has some nice tasteful mods that you won't have to spend money on later. For instance, the corner lights.

If its not a DD you can get collector insurance for it and put a claimed value on it. I did it with my 99 and insured it for what I paid for it. I paid a premium price for the car but it was in almost mint condition and never screwed with. And it was the only one I found withing 300 miles with what I wanted. So..I'm a happy camper.
And you done good

Rare color. I don't think you mentioned what year it was, but in 1999 only 202 FRC in that color were made.

Personally I think you paid a fair price considering the miles and condition. Im not sure why so many people think these cars are worth so little and should be given away.

Well I've been looking for a long time for a FRC Nassau Blue car. Finally found one with 10,4xx miles on it. Has a B&B exhaust and a Vararam intake and lowered on aftermarket bolts. Also has aftermarket 18/19s with good tread. Ipaid 17,500 for the car. I feel it's on the high side of the market which im ok with. But I can't find a similar car to compare it Tom curious to get some feedback.
