Hey everybody. I received my A & A SC this week from the Black Friday Sales. Needless to say, I'm very excited. I had no intentions of installing so soon. I really just wanted to take advantage of the sale price and install next season. Now that I have a big box of American power sitting in my family room, the wife suggested I get it installed now so I know what I'm working with next season. Pretty cool wife, huh? Bless her heart she has no idea what any of this is, she just knows it makes me happy. After giving it some thought I popped in at Tony's Corvette Shop (awesome work, couldn't be a nicer bunch of guys) and low and behold he stated the same as my wife. Install it now or you'll be thrown on the pile with every other vette owner trying to get work done for the beginning of the season and it will take forever. I'm not a fan of forever, so I scheduled for the second week in January. I have already winterized and tucked it away in the garage, no big deal. I'll just have to factor in bad weather, its a 15-20 min drive to the shop. I guess if it's really bad weather I could get an enclosed auto transport. Is that a little extreme? Figuring better safe than sorry.


I'm normally a planner, so all this free styling has me unexpectedly jacked up! Anyways, I'm more than excited and just need to channel a little of it. The friends and family think I'm nuts. I figured I might find some like minds on here.


I have to go do some research on new meat hooks, I'm thinking it will be best to part ways with the run flats after the SC.

I had one installed with Billyboat axle back went from 300 rwhp to 464 rwhp 444 tq it is fast and worth the money you will be impressed, with the auto the first 2 gears it wants to go sideways

Good to know. First and second gear noted. I just got mine back a month ago after adding ARH, LT, xpipe, CAI and tune. That got me 353 RWHP (43 HP+) and 430 FWHP (53 HP+) which surprised me little, in a good way. I didn’t think I’d see that much gain. I’m guesstimating I should be around 510-520 HP to the wheels after the SC and tune.

The need for for better traction is starting to dawn on me.

Congratulations on your SC and even more congratulations on your cool wife!
You're right - you'll have to be careful getting the car to the shop for the install and you'll have to be extra careful getting your new horsepower home!

Install and tune with a meth kit,better safe than sorry. I had intake and exhaust mods and was at least 350 rwhp and was at 520 rwhp after my A&A kit. Lasted just under 15K miles and #7 ring land decided it along with oil control and second compression rings wanted to be at the bottom of the oil pan. I put over 8K on the new motor this year. It has been a fun ride but I am still on stock A4 trans so am too scared to put it on a dyno and to lose the transmission.

I’ll look into that. I haven’t heard too many issues like that. Appreciate the heads up, I’ll ask my shop. Maybe somebody else can weigh in on the issue.

I’ve read a lot reviews with the a & a sc and they seem to have no ongoing issues that I’ve run across. Yet, since we seem like minded on the mods, I’d like to prevent that. I only have 43K miles on it. 6K of those I put on since I got it early this year. I intend to put a lot more miles on it before I entertain that kind of problem.

What kind of driving were you doing, at the time and before? I drive mine on the weekends, only spirited driving.

I had about 65K miles when I added the SC. I had 3.6 in pulley and was at 10 lbs. I drove a lot of easy miles with spirited runs, a few runs down the dragstrip but it was showing signs a while before it went. Was pushing dipstick up and spraying oil out the tube. It progressively got worse and when it felt like it had a cam I knew it was time to tear it apart. Here is what I saw.

You'll love it. My A&A equipped 99 was just dyno'd and she made 528 rwhp. Very pleased. Driving difference from my near stock 02 to the 99 is night and day.

Nice! You guys are at another level of this hobby! I'm still enjoying the stock power of the Z. How cool to have all this upgrade path ahead and super exciting!

I hope you can post some of the install procedures and pictures, and really look forward to your driving impressions!

I went from 483/423 NA, SAE, to 643/534 same by adding a stock A&A kit with the 3.8 pulley, and about 8 lbs of max boost. I also bought the kit on a big sale, but later regret adding the SC. I just can't use this much power without racing tires, and lots of other parts that are needed to handle the power without breaking.

I already had a cam and boltons on my z and picked up 300rwhp by bolting on a supercharger, needless to say it turned the car into a completely different animal... a&a is hands down the best centri kit for these cars and they have great customer service as well so you are in good hands
