So I have a C5 Coupe that I am selling currently because I bought an 04 Le Mans edition Z06 with 7600 miles on it.
So, in the coupes, everyone says to put C6 Z06 shocks and C6 Z51 sway bars with metal end links on the car. That is the hot setup. Not C5 Z06 parts. So my question is, if that setup is an improvement on the C5 coupe rather than upgrading to C5 Z06 parts, would that same setup be an improvement for my 04 Z06? Or should I just leave it the way it is? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks all,
My wife is pushing me to do that as well. No question, the Coupe is a better cruiser. Went to Laguna Seca Raceway with a great local Corvette club (Vetted) this summer. We were lucky enough to get to run 4 laps around the track. (They put a pace car in front of us all or half of us would have probably ended up backwards coming out of the "Horseshoe", lol.) After the trip, a buddy was asking me about the 2 cars. I said, the coupe is better for driving down to Laguna Seca. The Z06 is better for running around the track.
What about the metal end links guys need on the coupes. (End links attaching to sway bars are plastic in coupe, upgrade to metal end links is almost required, lol). Does the Z06 come stock with metal end links?
The DRMs are a different story. I've currently got Koni Sports on my 03 Z and the DRMs on my 09 Z.
I personally think that the 04 Z06 shocks are very nice; I used to have them on my 03. I like the adjustability of the Konis on the 03 for autocross purposes.
I have a 32 mm Addco bar on the front of my 03 and the stock bar on the rear. The Hotchkis bar listed on the Strano site is functionally equivalent to the Addco bar.
