I found a 2004 convertable. It is a base model. They want 24,990. It is yellow. Needs all four tires and front side marker light is cracked. Does not have HUD nor is it magnetic ride. Has 27899 miles on it. So my question is at any other place that same car is going for anywhere from 17.000 to 20,000 Am I missing something on this car as to why they are asking that much

I'm sure it's a nice car, but they think too highly of it.
As was pointed out; for that amount of money you could get into a C6, but I would still suggest driving both C5s and C6s before deciding. There are several C5 owners (myself included) who could afford a reasonably priced C6 but prefer the C5.
Best wishes with your search. Please let us know which great Corvette you end up with.

In September 2014, I bought my base non mod triple 2004 Black Vert that has HUD, has 12 CD player with 31K from a GM dealer for $25K. Appears the asking price is high.

OP, check your spelling.
When I read your heading, I thought you were interested in converting a table that you bought in 2004.
For future use, the correct spelling is, "Convertible".
