I've owned my hardtop since June of this year...since then I've been contemplating the idea of designing either an emblem or maybe even a decal to give the FRC a little designation since that was the specific C5 model I was after. I completed the design and decided to get some custom emblems made by a company called Emblem Art. There were some drawbacks however with the limitations I had with these emblems as I was only getting a couple made. I wasn't able to get any color (original design was almost all red with a "chrome" edge all around, and I was limited to 1/8" thick plastic. I decided to pull the trigger on the emblems even though it wasn't exactly what I had envisioned. I received them in the mail today. Quality is excellent and overall experience dealing with Emblem Art was great. I will be making the decision tomorrow whether I will actually be putting these on the car or maybe going with the decal route as these are a tiny bit too thick for my liking. These will be going on each fender (same placement as Z06 badges) and are roughly the same size if I'm not mistaken (5.5"W x 1"H). Keep in mind most cars I've owned I've taken most badging off so maybe I'm just not liking the idea of adding anything to the car. Let me know what you guys think!
* I might even stick with a single badge somewhere at the rear of the car but I really can't find any specific location I'm in love with.
The font used just doesnt look right for a corvette.
The design was tricky for me as I was trying to keep the look true to the era and give it that overall automotive feel. The slant "forward" was inspired by a lot of the existing auto emblems/designs I've found around the web. The letter shapes I chose was purely to replicate a 90's(ish) feel. I put them on the car today temporarily to gauge a general look, something was definitely off to me...I think it was just the thickness of the badge but given the nature of how straight and boxy this design is might clash a little with the overall shape of the car...maybe?
Those came out very nice. I checked out their website and it looks as though they do some pretty good work. Around how much was the emblem to get custom made if you don't mind me asking. Did they come with 3m backing already applied? Looking forward to seeing them installed.

Thanks! The pricing was roughly $100 to my door. That included the cost to set up the file, the cost to make, and finally shipping. I'm assuming the price would be more if they were to take over design. If I were to get these done again it would be cheaper as the setup fee drops some due to it being a reorder. Yes, they do come with adhesive backing which Emblem Art assures it is automotive grade/weather proof adhesive. Will post updated pics.
Looks like a well made item, but I'm another less is better kinda guy. Almost would remove my Z badges. Also don't think the style suits the gentle lines of the C5.
All that matters is that you like the look. Load a pic after install.

I have always wanted to attempt this and ask fellow members if a group buy would work if we could all agree on a design.
Have contacted a few vendors in the past and never for a response.
May I ask what the 2 front lines are for? Hash marks?

Those 2 shapes up front were purely a design element. If you had to put some meaning behind them it could be for the 2 years the hardtops were made...at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Don't do it. In regards to emblems on a Corvette, less is more.
One of my favorite sayings: "less is more". BUT, its you car, do what you want.
P.S. Speaking of badges, remember that famous line "badges, badges, we no need no stinking badges"
from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
