Default What to check while dash is pulled for HUD repair?

I've got the dash pulled to repair the HUD in my 2000. I'm having the climate control unit fixed while it's apart because the right side wasn't lighting at night. Are there any other things I should look at while it's apart?

Thanks,

JB

Hi Jason,

Not sure what to check while you are in there... If you were having specific problems regarding HVAC such as hot/cold or venting, you could look at the blend door actuators and vacuum lines.

However, there are a number of things to upgrade since you are in there... Things I did when I fixed my HUD last winter...
  • LEDs for DIC
  • Gauge bezels in SS
  • Single DIN car stereo
  • Replaced broken trunk button bezel

My point is, I don't think that there are other maintenance items under the dash to inspect. Only items that need to be troubleshot when causing an issue or simply upgrades.

Good luck!

I would replace the flasher if you haven't. It will eventually fail.

When I had mine off I replaced the hazard switch. Super easy with the dash cover off.

Ignition switch. In fact I fixed my HUD while I had the dash taken apart to do the ignition switch.
