General seat question
Hey guys, I am newbie and I don't know too much about Corvettes or any mechanical or body stuff. I have a stupid question. I have '97 C5 Firethorn red leather seats & carpets. I called the dealer to find out my seats are sport seat. The dealer couldn't tell me because it doesn't say when he put in the vin number. My seat is Firethorn red but I found a replacement seats from
interior innovation for about $600.00. The photos solid color is my seat and the black and firethorn red insert is from interior innovations I want to replace with.
My question is my seat sport seat or standard seat?
Also I have to replace the seat cushions on both seats, any one recommend a vendor for the seat cushions? Is there better seat cushions I can go with that will fit my 97 from C6 seat cushions?

You have the sport seat. Easily identifiable with the cut out under the head rest, as well as the lumbar controls.
Tried to attach a photo to show the difference but it would not attach. If you google the difference, you should pull up several pics.
I don't believe the foam for the C6 seat will fit the upholstery of the C5 seat without some modification. Several vendors on the Forum offer foam and/or replacement seat leather.

C5 Seats
with the above post. I used Corvette America's Seat foam for my sport seats. I also installed the seat rebuild kits that beef up the bottom cushions.
I purchased the seat rebuilt kits from Southern Car Parts.

Yes, firethorn red sport seats. I had those on a 98 Coupe and always wanted to change it to the torch red but never did. It's not that hard to change to entire look because most of the carpet and panels are black. Either firethorn red or torch red looks great. They Firethorn red was not as popular as the Torch Red.
