Summer Tires
I am a relative Corvette novice and I am looking to purchase a good C5. How can I tell if it has "summer only" tires? Is there a special designation on the sidewall?

Easiest thing is to just google the tire, but it most likely will not have a M+S side wall rating. Tread patterns are usually a good indicator as well.
Some tires have an A/S as well, BFG and Michelin tend to do this.

Look up the tire brand/make you have on a site like Tire Rack or Discount Tire and it should be in the tire’s description.

My favorite all around tire is the continental extreme contact DWS06. Excellent all around grip if your nice sunny day starts to rain while you are out. The DWS stands for dry/wet/snow but haven't tried the snow part but can attest to them being good rain tires.

Like the others have said, look up the specific tire for its designation.
I LOVE me summer-compound Firestones, BUT I will also tell you that they DO NOT like cold weather. Really anything below 45* is really dicey and shows up in the TC/AH taking over if you push it a bit.

Max performance summer tires like the Continental ExtremeContact Sport and Michelin Pilot Super Sport can be as good if not better than all season tires in the rain. The only time to not use them is in cold/snow.

Like the console cover too...Put one on last summer. The deck lid spoiler looks great. Where did you get it? Did it come pre-painted? Bolt on or adhesive?

Yes it did come painted and exactly matched my car which amazed me at the time. It is installed with double-sided tape. That took me (read OCD) a long time to install as I wanted no visible sign of the tape once installed. Turned out very nice and I agree that it accentuates the look of the car.
I am sorry but I cannot remember where it came from. Eckler's and Mid America had a similar product but it was a bit more than I paid at the time.
I have had a great time with my car. Not many miles but very many smiles. The small mods I did made me quite happy at the time and looking back, I would do most all of them again. It was just fun doing small things to a really fine automobile.
