Default Mushy steering wheel

The center part of my steering wheel is soft and rubbing off black material on my hands. This car has always been garaged. Whats the deal?

Although not happened to mine, I have seen others having the same problem as you. It appears the chemicals in the products such as Amoral to clean/protect vinyl services degrade the coating. Many have used products such as Goo by gone to clean the surface of the sticky stuff. I personally only use a mild liquid soap to clean the vinyl surfaces on my cars.

If the steering wheel (and specifically the air bag which may be the area you are talking about) is sticky, try this:

I sure admire your filing system Jack. Don't know how you do it but it would take me much longer to go through my files like that
