Anyone else's hood bounce in the center near the windshield? I never noticed it on my spiral grey c5. But when I got my yellow one I noticed it shortly after getting it. Maybe I am just able to see it bouncing because of the more visible color, or maybe my hood is busted..?
Are you sure your hood is fully latched down? The hood on my ‘03 does not bounce around.
It makes a distinct click noise when I close it. I also cannot pull it open unless I pull the hood release. I will try lowering the adjusters to see if making it close lower fixes it.
My hood does the same as well, also Millenium Yellow, I think the yellow is more noticeable. When I drive my dads silver Z I don't notice it much if at all
Mine jiggled like that when I got on the interstate just the other day. Freaked me out because it never did that before. I had just left a shop at the time so I suspect one of the techs didn’t close the hood properly. When I got home I popped the hood as I got out, before checking to see if it wasn’t shut right - out of habit I guess.
So I can’t say for sure if that was the cause, but I’ve had the car going a lot faster since then with no wobble in the center near the windshield at all.
I lube the latches once a year with ACDelco Super Lube (white lithium grease works too) and always let the hood “drop” from about a foot high.

Have you had a chance to lower the adjusters? I was wondering if that fixed the hood vibration. Thanks
Thanks for the update. Guess that would have been too easy a fix.
I'm not experiencing that but wanted to file away the adjustment if that took care of it.
Hoping it's still a simple fix.

if the hood is loose on the latches while shut you should raise the adjusters (not lower them) to tighten the hood... doing this may raise the hood near the cowl so you can also try lowering the latches or doing both until you get it to your liking... I have seen this happen on other cars and it isn't fun to see when you're going fast but luckily I haven't had this issue on my car

OP, it may help to clarify where you see the hood move. The kind of movement I am talking about is in the center of the hood, not the edges or near the window. That part of the hood does not move. At high speed, the center starts flexing.
So, are you seeing movement from the center or on the edges near the adjustment bumps or the hinge / latch?

I am seeing it from the center. I guess it's time to write this off as normal then?
No bounce or jiggle on my 00. Hood closing on these sometimes takes a little finesse. There's posts out there about the proper way to close and getting the angle right....before dropping. Maybe your bouncy, bouncy is related to the hood not properly closing all the way???
