My '01 convertible had a rather pesky problem with the passenger side visor. It would appear that previous passengers would pull the visor down by the leading edge and over the years this caused the visor to break away from the vanity mirror. Upon close inspection I found evidence of an ineffective attempt to repair the damage by packing in "Sugru." I removed the gummy mess and attempted my own solution- some Velcro attached to the back of the mirror and cardboard. It was better than the previous attempted repair, but the mirror assembly was still pulled away from the outer corner of the visor.
Saint Michael provided the best solution. We have these saintly reminders that we are not alone in all of our cars, and I had yet to buy one for my Corvette.
The corner of the passenger side visor is as good a place as any, so I took the clip and bent the upturned clip downward in order to maximize the clamping action and slid the clip into place. The St. Michael visor clip, provided a strong mechanical clamp to the mirror and the visor- however the visor lid would not fully close, resulting in the vanity light not turning off. So I added a shim (used a small felt chair leg floor protector).
Thought I would share this easy fix. I've found so many solutions to common problems on this forum- so I hope this helps someone, someday.
