C5 are getting cheap!
Wanted a C5 cause it’s awesome and could afford it. Under $10,000 and hope to pass it on to my son eventually. Everything works

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I've always bought my 2 c5 sone a z51 and one a z06 and now I own a 2008 c6 z51 since new and with 119k mikes on my present corvette I would suggest saving big money at the time of purchase and not worry about miles...
10 grand for the OP model chosen is a steal and 110k miles is nothing.
If I were shopping I'd go for a lower initial cost on a higher mileage vehicle than pay almost double for a low mileage example.
These cars don't break and if they do the cost is Chevy cheap...
I do believe the c5 s are among the most beautiful of cars with just the need for slightly larger diameter wheels than stock to be fully contemporary looking...
To me it will always be a great choice as GM validates these cars for 300k miles..so they can project their costs for their 5/100000 mile drivetrain warranty.
Have fun and buy with confidence.
I always smile when I see c5 s on the road being driven as they were not meant to sit on a pedestal in the garage.
110 k miles is nothing for a corvette.
I fully expect my corvette will run 300k miles although the new rear mid engine has peaked my interest in a new corvette before then
Btw c6 s with high mileage are heavily depreciated as well so don't think it's just c5s..
I say who cares as all my miles all my years my corvette puts a smile on my face ..and when I move on to a new corvette...maybe preowned for the first time in 40 years of buying new cars...corvettes are awesome...
All cars depreciate with mileage ...smiling and fun make that depreciation worthwhile...
To put numbers on buying and selling corvettes from a personal perspective...for my value etc..
I figure to lease a new corvette the annual cost is 8 grand give or take a few grand...
So if I bought a new corvette at fifty grand...(round numbers) and keep it ten years sell it for 15 grand ...my cost of ownership is 35000 plus cost of repairs beyond oil changes...divide by 10 and my annual cost is (give or take) 3500 dollar or 300 a month...
To drive and use one of these beauties for 300 a month is a hell of a deal.
The only thing better is buying a 10 to 15 grand preowned beauty and enjoying it for another 5 or ten years...
I believe between depreciation and repairs/maintaince as well your costs are 150 a month
You can't lease a Kia for that and you're DRIVING A 170 mph corvette!

Theres 3 c5 in my ho hum neighborhood lurking in garages.
I wish I bought an rt/10 Viper at the time for the same price. Badass and appreciating.

other then my above qualms it still gets compliments and I still like driving it, I just wont buy another one and am currently looking at other options. I drive my Giulia a lot more now and I still come home from work and swear my vette is frowning at me. Maybe I'll put a cover on it for the next 50 years and it will be worth a million dollars lol.
