Have had a few people tempt in my owning the car; like I can count them on my hand how few it's been. I don't go for it as it's a near stock 20 year old car, I know what it can and can't do, and honestly what it is going to prove? A lot of it too I will admit is probably people just trying to get places. Most recently I was behind a line of 40 MPH driving cars on an on ramp, jumped into the middle lane to pass and get up to speed, and before I know it I see a newer BMW rev'ing and keeping pace. It's like man I'm literally just trying to get to the office in a reasonable amount of time and running a 20 year old Corvette against a less than five years old 5 Series grand tourer proves absolutely nothing other than we're wasting our time(s).
I think light blue and stock exhaust does help though; my car is far from loud and obnoxious.
I get the occasional wannabe ricer that I have to brush off and ignore but for some reason I get brat teen kids who like to skip things like pennies across the rear deck when I'm at a stoplight with the top down. It never seems to damage the paint but it irritates the heck out of me. But I'm not going to jail because I strangled some 15 year old punk either.
I just tell myself that those types will be making change for me at the convienance store a year after they barely graduate high school - and they'll still be doing so 20 years later.
