Default Shocks or sway bars?

if you had to choose between upgrading swaybars or upgrading shocks from stock C5 to Z6 type, which would you do?

Honestly, in the end you're going to do both. If it were me I would go ahead and do both while it's in the air, but if you only want to do one right now it would depend on how bad your current shocks are. If they need replacement then go ahead and upgrade. If not, coin flip for which to start with.

Great advice...I am going to do both. The wallet will recover by the time they arrive.

Good choice and you'll notice a nice difference in the way the car handles.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but a newb question -

For a 2002 base vert with base wheel sizes, is there any other required changes needed to change the shocks and / or sway bar to the Z06 standard parts?

I have a 99 FRC with Z51. I recently upgraded the sways to the C6 Z51, new bushings, and the metal end links. The car feels much tighter now on the highway and in the twists. Since my car is lowered I can't imagine the C6Z shocks would have made that much of a difference over the bilstein z51.

I had them powder coated too! looks sweet from the back matching torch red.

That's what I went with, C6 Z51 sway bars and C6 Z06 shocks. Still waiting for warm weather to put on.

No. Really just an upgrade to the suspension components you currently have on your '02.

If you have the F45 option put on the Z51 sway bars. You'll love it.

I picked up a set of Z51 sways and Z06 shocks off the forum for a song. Very nice upgrade to a base 08. Why Z51 and not Z06.
1. No Z06 sways available at the time.
2.The difference in size was 3 mm.
For me, close enough as I didn't plan to track the car. I just wanted to tighten up the suspension a bit for everyday driving.

Does your vert have the F45 shocks?

New to me, not sure what it has. Is F45 stamped on them, or a label?

I replaced shocks (put in C6 z06) and noticed a big difference. Never replaced the sways, I guess I don't know what I'm missing.

Not going too.

I never why more people didn't upgrade sways. No negative effects to ride characteristics and much flatter cornering.

I have the steeds on my st, hotchkis on my c5, I ran summits on my mustang.

it's always one of my first handling changes.
