Air cleaner
On my 97 C5 the oem air cleaner strap unlatches everytime I drive tge car. Tge bumps i hit on tge road creates vibration to air cleaner and shakes the latches to to come undone. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
I don't see adjustment on the metal latch strap.

I don't believe there is an adjustment. You could try putting something under the strap to take up the slack such as rubber strips. I think others have put a kink in the strap.

I do not think there is an adjustment for the straps either. Are you sure you have the latching points fully seated on the air box? They are designed to snap down tightly to hold it secure.

You can bend a larger angle "kink" in the strap where the existing kink is (about 2 inches from the latch) to create a bit more tension to hold the latch "over center". At least this worked for me.

I did this plus used a tiewrap. The tiewrap I did not zip it all the way down gave it enough slack to fit over the ears

My air boxes' latches also have a heck of a time staying put. You're supposed to have two large velcro straps on there also. What I've been having to do is wrap those straps around the box so that they're tight enough to "push" the latches into place. It's a bit of a pain. I did attempt to "adjust" the latches by removing the air box lid and bending the metal straps, but that did very little to help. The zip tie idea mentioned above would also be something that would work with the only negative thing being you'd have to cut them when you go to do a filter change.

The air filter gasket is supposed to fill the space between the front and back of the air cleaner fully and cause the straps to be a correct fit. The K&N filter is a little "shy" of this size and they provide a foam gasket to stick all around the edge of the casing. Then the air filter straps will stay put.
Assuming that the straps are correctly connected at the bottom, your air filter is not thick enough. Buy some window gasket material (foam on one side, sticky on the other) and apply it on the inside of the air cleaner channel or directly to the air filter. Those two big snaps should click positively and stay in place from the tension.

Just use zip ties to hold the handles down. Cut them off when you want to check/replace the air filter. Carry a few zip ties in the car so you can zip the down again after you check/replace the filter.
