It looks like GM is going to get fairly close to the Viper's power level next year. Not close enough...you can never have enough power unless you're faster than the other guy, but close enough to warrant consideration at least. My question is, has anyone heard whether or not GM has decided to listen to customers for a change and offer the Z06 in a hatchback coupe? The hard top looks so goofy and my wife hates not having a glass roof in the car. :chevy
personally, i dont think the hardtop looks goofy. I think it looks the best out of all 3 models. The coupe's back window slouches too far and makes the car look uneven. The coupe's front and back are really unbalanced imo, and thats why i chose the hardtop. Anyways, there will probably not be any Z06 coupe in the 5th generation corvette. It might happen with the C6 Z06, but thats just speculation.
It's just my opinion and not meant to offend anyone.
Also I DO have a couple of C4 coupes.
Got both roof panels for my '91.
The solid roof is the keeper IMHO.
The clear roof let's too much sun in and burns me and my wife up.
The slanting window makes the coupe fat looking. Again, no offense to anyone. It's just fat looking. Not PHAT.... F-A-T.
I LOVED the look of the C5 roadster and wished they would make a solid top Vette with the vert roofline.
They did that with the FRC. IMHO it's the best looking body style.
The only thing I REALLY wish GM would do is make the hardtop removable, ala Caravagio (sp).
I had a 99 coupe that I just traded in on a 2002 Z06. I also did not like the hardtop until the new Z06 came out and I drove one. I love this car and do not miss my coupe at all, the Z06 is the best vette yet.
Now that makes a lot of sense....come over to the Z06 forum and say the car looks *so goofy*. Great. Welcome, S&K....
If you have any knowledge of why the Z06 was "invented", you'd know why it's not a coupe or a vert. GM has repeatedly said why those cars will not get the LS6 and why the Z *is* their performance option.
Perhaps a Viper is in your future. Your wife will like it.
Opinions are fine with me, if everyone liked the same thing this would be a dull place.
I don't see them ever doing a Z06 option on the coupe but who knows, it is GM.

Oh boy,
Another baseless rumor from someone not in the know. I guess it's a matter of personal taste, I think a hatchback looks goofy.
