So, I was bored and wondering so me and the Vette experimented on tire pressures, tire temps and chalk lines this afternoon in about 78F weather with the sun sometimes out , sometimes in. Did about a 30 mile run during the test and the latter part on new black top.
Start
FL FR RL RR
30 30 30 30 Gauge
87 87 83 83 Temp Had run the car this morning but had been down for about 4 hours
30 30 30 30 Dash After rolling while to get the readings.

After about a 20mile run.
34 34 33.5 33.5 Gauge
106 106 106 106 Temp
Forgot to get dash readings due to traffic

Chalk line, Flat across the tire worn even from inside to outside
at present hot temps and pressures.

So, guess it's gonna stay like that for my needs.

When I first got my 2004 Vette in 2004 I would put 30 cold as per the generic sticker....then from June through August with the temperatures rising to 90+ and especially on asphalt roads my tire pressure would go to 35-36 and after a while the rear tires would wear in the middle so then I started using the 30-31 hot method which meant I would have to start off cold at 26-27 to get to the "sweet spot" of 30-31and it has worked for me since 2004...I also use 30-31 hot in the colder months and my temps only go to 31 hot but I only put in 28-29 cold......I change tire pressure seasonally depending on the ambient temp of the season.....works for me
