Nav, camera.
Been AWOL here for a while - other priorities. What's the current thinking on the best nav/rear camera/head unit and replacement console setup?
I have that whole area in pieces at the moment to replace the hazard switch. Whoever the dimwit was who decided to bury a likely-to-fail item (the flasher unit) in the depths of the dash pad requiring removal of everything from the center console to all the dash area padding and trim, should be condemned to spend eternity changing them. BUT the repair manual instructions are precise and accurate, so it's just a take your time and don't break any plastic bits task
I heard DD Mods had given up on Vettes, so I'm looking for options and recommendations.

Vettenuts makes the DD size bezel. I have a Kenwood 9903 (from DDmods) with Apple Car play and love it. Modernizes the driving experience beyond belief, just from the NAV perspective. I also have the KW backup camera and it’s great as well.
DDMods provided a ‘better’ wiring harness, so I only had to deal with a single wire splice.

Why didn't you just install a hyperflash harness? Let's you install LED's and eliminates the problem of the failing hazard switch without having to remove anything but the four screws that hold the panel under the steering wheel on.

There's more than one way to replace the hazard switch, and thanks to finding it on this site, I replaced mine a few years ago in about 15 min. by sneaking my arm up underneath the console, only having to remove the knee bolster underneath the steering column. Another repair is to replace the flasher with a new one, leaving it hidden under the dash by that bolster. Both of these methods are on the forum somewhere, I don't have time to find them now. Why work any harder than you have to?

I purchased the modified console from DD some years back and have a Kenwood head unit that supports 2 cameras and built in Nav and also Apple Car Play and the Android equivalent. The Nav unit does NOT support voice activation which make it just OK in my opinion. Might rethink the built in Nav if I had to do it over again. My iPhone does support voice activation for Maps but perhaps lacks some of the other (Garmin) Nav features. I absolutely love the rear and front facing cameras! Haven't bumped into a curb while pulling into a parking spot since installation. 
When backing up the Vert it is much easier to see what is behind you with the rear camera. My 0.02 cents.....

Then of course, there is no way to get your arm up there as the area is completely blocked off by the AC air distribution system and the radio & AC head unit.
Since the flasher is the hazard switch, if you leave it under the dash you don't have a legal hazard switch, plus of course the only thing that holds the switch button in place is the plastic trim and the fact that the hazard switch is correctly fitted into the molding behind the button.

Nav and cameras are my priority. No interest in Siri. My "other" car has excellent nav and AV (9" screen), plus rear camera - now a legal requirement on all new cars, BTW.
Since DD are no more, is anyone else putting any kind of package together?

I don't know if the built in NAV unit, that also has CarPlay does take away from Siri, but perhaps Siri has more functions due to the newer unit?
Currently Siri does maps, phone, messages-send/receive, music, weather, location and others I can't remember right now.
I'm VERY aware of Apple maps limitations. I've written them that the "concept' of someone having more than one destination in a route is not a far out idea. I have other map programs that allow me to plan multiple stops. Most of the time, in the car, Siri's navigation is fine.

The OEM lasted from 1997 to 2018, so I don't expect it to fail again anytime soon.
