Engine cleaning cloth
Greetings,
I'm just wondering if there is some type of engine cleaning cloth available. I want to keep the engine free of dirt, etc. without having to use water. Thanks in advance

I clean the engine bay about every two weeks, and all it takes is a soft cloth, and some spray windex.
If the engine bay has not been cleaned before, or for a long time, I would use simple green diluted, and then rinse with a rag that is wet.

I don't think there is any special type of cloth to use for the engine bay.

I like to spray an older microfiber towel with a spray-wash bottle (like Meguiar's Wash & Wax Anywhere) and just wipe things down. Just hitting the big plastic surfaces like this every once in a while keeps it clean enough to impress the cars and coffee crowd.
Once a microfiber gets demoted to engine cleaning, it doesn't get used on paint anymore.

That’s what I do every couple of weeks and it works just fine. The key is once you get it clean, don’t let it get dirty again.

If you have grease or oil that needs to be removed, Simple Green works well. If it is just dusty, I use a Swiffer duster and then use an Absorber (synthetic chamois) to wipe the components down. You could also use an air compressor with a blower nozzle on it and get rid of some of the dust first.
