I am a bit pressed for time so I haven't done a site search here yet. I took my 2000 to the shop in part to have my shocks replaced. My shop told me GM no longer manufacturers the shocks for this type of suspension. The cars with active handling, Cruise, sport and Touring settings. He was able to find two, I believe he said right front and left rear. He wanted to use GM OEM parts. Has anybody else encountered this issue before and any recommendations for replacement shocks that still maintains all suspension functions?

Your best option if you want to retain selective ride is to upgrade to the F55 system, same as what is used on 2003 and 2004 Corvettes. Active handling is independent of selective ride, you can use any shock and retain active handling.
The F55 upgrade kit is part number 12499507. It costs $2350, comes complete with 4 shocks, harnesses, and computer. If you ever need to replace the shocks again (hopefully you won't have to), it is the same as the magnetic shocks found on 03 and 04 Corvettes.

Thank you for your help Tsumi.
I have the car in doing $3500 worth of work now including tires and tie rods. I will look into the kit. Who sells that? Is it GM?

Actually my mechanistic been in touch with GM and they keep giving him the run around for two weeks now. They don't sell the conversion kit anymore and he is trying to source all these parts individually .
If anybody has other suggestions or help here it would be appreciated.
You have to use the above website linked to order the kit. GM parts supply is probably looking for your year kit not the 2003-2004 kit that is recommended here. I can add the kit to my cart for checkout.
Yes I brought the kit up myself on the website. My mechanic talked to a rep on the phone. She told him they didn't offer it anymore
According to my mechanic, she would not transfer him directly to a tech specialist but would only offer to call him back with answers to his questions. I suspect the kit may be available on the website but she simply doesn't know how to access it. I am not really thrilled with their 7 to 10 day before shipping policy. Being a big company they can get away with things like that.
I did an online chat with Pace. Nice people but they do not offer conversion kit and rep wasn't aware of it's existence.
They sell a shock set but not one compatible with electronic suspension option. They are not aware of computer required for conversion either.
I tried GMDirect website yesterday and got a box stating kit had been discontinued.
Talked to a local Corvette Specialty shop and they said the kit was no longer available though I may be able to find one somewhere on somebodies shelf if I internet search long enough.
Starting to get tired of this. I may just have to put a standard set of shock on it and forget about ride control function.
I didn't buy the kit myself, but I got F55 shocks and the computer off of ebay. I've already figured out the computer wiring, but I need to figure out the harness wiring. I'm sure it's somewhere in the service manuals I have.
I've got a set of F45 shocks with about 20k miles if you are interested. They are in great shape . No leaks. I purchased them as backups in case I needed to replace mine. I think I'm going to sell my car, so I probably won't need them. If you're like me, I never thought I would buy used shocks, but I took the chance and these seem to be ok. PM me if you're interested.

Thank you o2bnkc. Decided to go with a new set and forget about the electronic adjustment feature. This has dragged on for too long.
Man, that's too bad!! I just upgraded my F45 to F55 kit. Bought it back in Oct and put it on about 3 weeks ago. Hard to believe they don't sell it anymore.
I did buy mine from GMPartsdirect. C5 Magnaride Suspension (12499507) after I placed the order they called me back in a hour or so to make sure that I order it. Once I told them I did, it was on it's way in a few days. I don't remember it taking more than a week but I could be wrong as well.
