Hi all, my rearview mirror on driverside door has gone dark and I am wondering what is the smart easy way to replace or repair it. Any and all help appreciated.
By "gone dark" I'm assuming you have RPO DD0 - electrochromatic side view mirrors (i.e., the auto-dimming side mirrors). The glass can still be purchased but it is VERY pricey and last I checked was in the ~$350 range for just the glass piece. There is no "cheap" alternative retaining the function as it's a specialized piece.
The cheapest alternative would be to put in a standard glass piece which is much cheaper, but you will lose the auto-dimming function. Or if you're lucky to find someone that parted out a C5 that carried the RPO andthat's willing to sell it at a good price. You may post in the parts wanted section.

I agree with the above - either find someone partingnoit a car with the electrochromic mirror, call one of the forum used parts vendors, or put in a regular piece of glass.
