We have performed literally 1000's of mail order tunes, here is a link to our mail order tuning thread;
My suggestion for your wants is long tube headers with high flow cats and ti cat back exhaust..good sound but not too loud. A cold air intake up front. If I had a 2:73 gear I'd go to a 3.42 and leave it alone if it's a 3.15. Top it off with a mail order tune. You've just pick up nice power/performance and exhaust sound, and you didn't open the motor.
I'm a fan of ECS's mail order tunes, especially with the A4.
I went with polished 799 heads, a cam, Z06 exhaust and the flip tie mod intake. There are some other mild mods like IM Shield under the intake and I should be making about 100 more HP. I'm pretty happy with this set-up for its reliability.
If you have the 2.73 gears, I agree with the others that recommend lower gearing.
