yes , and carfax forgot to mention that the car i paid to check on had been in an accident . i didn't realize it until a few weeks after the purchase . i paid $39 and got nothing in return , actually , worse than nothing .

I generally use CF to find out where the car has been and how many times it has changed hands.
If a car was in a flood area during the time of the flood and shows up on the market shortly thereafter, that is usually a warning sign.
Too many auctions and/or dealers in a row is another red flag.
Buying a car like a Corvette is usually a good idea to have it professionally checked out.
