Hey guys so last week I purchased another vette!!!!! I sold my last one about 6 years ago and I missed it way to much! So its 99 Vert with 56K miles. The moment I purchased it, I ordered lowering bolts, C6 Z06 replica wheels in 18x9.5 and 19x10, tires, blackout kit and a new radio. Ill post some before and after pics.
So my question is, should I raise the back a little since it is clearly tucking lower than the front? I do not rub anywhere and the car drives great, but I am torn on the stance.

Looks good to me! i'd leave it!
Thats the same problem I ran into, even after removing my front bolts the front isnt low enough. Coilovers are on the list of things to do... If I ever get there

Thanks Dom, I appreciate your input! I regret not going 19x10 all around. I may bite the bullet in a few months and get 19's for the front them.

I would raise the back up just a tad if it were mine... have you done an alignment yet?... if not you could pull some of the negative camber out on the rear and that will help

I used my jacking puck locations, I can lock mine down tight, to get a good stance. Stock is rear puck 1/4" higher than the front, as long as the rear is not lower these cars look good with that rake, I set mine level and my wheel well height with same diameter tires is 1/2" higher than the front 26" front & 26.5" rear. Picture has been straightened. I say set how you are most happy.
I am in the same boat you are. I bought aftermarket bolts and slammed it. At first I loved it, but now I think the back is too low as there is less gap between fender and tire than the front. I feel that those gaps should be equal for the best stance. So you are really close! I would come up maybe 1/2" or so until you get the gaps equal. Also, if you go to low you will end up on the stops and the ride will be tough to take.
Javi1782... I have the same situation as you, but I think on my car (with its white color and stock Z06 wheel/tire size) mines a bit more noticeable. But I'm okay with it... rides/handles great.

IMO - from a purely aesthetics point of view, Vettes need to have the same gap front and rear. Could be slammed, stock or anywhere in-between...just need front and back to be the same to look right.

Your car is close to being just right but the rear should be up a little. The C5 looks great with the back end just a bit higher than the front.
I definitely say it needs the back raised some. I personally prefer the back (in terms of wheel well gap) on ALL cars - including my FWD imports - to be every so slightly higher. It just looks so much better.
I have a turbocharged 3rd gen Maxima and specifically had to seek out two different brands of lowering springs years ago to give it the look I wanted front to back lol. Without doing that, the back looks saggy and drove me crazy even though it's technically even. A lot of modern cars suffer from the same issue in which the rear wheel arch is lower than the front, so an even ride height "looks" lower in the back. I can't stand it.
Side note - I noticed your Metra bezel seems to have a gap on the passenger side and may not have that tab clicked in on the side. I noticed this over and over on Metra C5 installs when I was doing mine last week and assumed I'd have that problem, but I got mine totally flush with quite a bit of work getting the HU itself better aligned. I went with a Chinese Android HU so mine was a bit more work as I had to modify the Metra bezel a bit, but it came out totally flush.

Thanks Im going to look into it this weekend and see if I can get it flush. I think I may raise the back just a little, I also ordered some 5mm spacers for the front because I feel like that wheel is sunk in a bit more than the back. Ill see how it looks with the spacers.
To me it's very close, but still think the back should come up slightly.
Still, it you like the look and if it handles good, then just leave it for now, since you are already thinking about replacement rear wheels. Yours is not too noticeable with the all black look.
I have the stock bolts in the front, run all the way out, with the pads cut off. In the rear I have 7" Zip bolts with 3/16" of each bolt sticking out the top of the nuts. I spent several weekends panning out the stance of my car. I do run a little higher in the rear on purpose though. This is show height. I have 3 other settings for big city driving, street cruising, and track work.
It's all about the stance. Inhance's the aggresive nature of the C5. Currently lowered in stock bolts with pads shaved on the front bolts. Swapping to coilovers soon.
