that's what the wicked witch of the west thought...
we are soggy here in the midatlantic states.....I took the AWD minivan ( same ground clearance as a Honda pilot)out to a house warming party in the shenadoah valley yesterday (rural va) and we needed all the wheels turning not to get stuck in the field....the Shenandoah river was lapping up at the river road sides....and now I have pooling water in my back yard and I am on a slight hill!!!

As painfully emotionally as it may be, the car won’t melt and will run just fine in wet weather. It will just take a little extra effort come detail time.
I know I always hated the first time my Corvettes got caught in the rain.

Been caught out in the rain a few times...especially during the NCM 20th caravan.
I only hate it because of all the extra work to detail it out.
With all the hundreds of threads about electronics failures, leaks, wet floors and other problems caused by water, I am not so sure these cars won't melt if they get wet.

With me, it's not a case of the rain hurting the car, but for some reason, my car seems to disappear in the rain. What I mean is, other drivers just don't seem to see it when it's raining, even when I have the lights on.
When I first got the car, back in '01, I was still working full time. I drove it to work one day, and in the afternoon it started to rain. I wasn't too concerned, but while driving home, some "soccer mom" ran right up on my rear bumper, before moving to the center lane to pass me. She then cut back in front of me, so close, that I had to tap the brakes, so she didn't drive across my hood.
I thought that it was just her, being an azzhat, but then it happened again, a couple of weeks later. After that, the car didn't get driven in the rain...

Then the humidity delaminates your doors.
Lol these cars are rolling garbage, at least they are fun. Probably the most fragile car I’ve ever owned.
For the first 5 years of my car's life, it was my all weather daily driver. It got rained on, snowed on, driven through standing water, baked in the sun, etc, etc. No ill effects at all - one of the benefits of SMC body panels. Most people look at it these days and cannot believe it's nudging 21 years old. I put that down to it not being subjected to being washed or polished very often, so the finish has not been messed up, and being silver, it just goes a little grey when it's dirty.
I have driven through water up to the bottom of the doors. Only thing that bothered me about that experience was as y'all might guess I was crawling along at 2 mph pushing a wave of water with air dam. Some woman behind me in an Escalade couldn't stand it and passed. Her wake went all the way over the top of 'vette. I was P#zzed!! But Corvette was just fine.

I live in Oregon.
Never driving in the rain would mean almost never driving my 03.
I bought my Vettes to drive.
I drive in the rain all the time and never had a rain-related issue with my o3 or my 99 that preceded. I do avoid driving in snow or ice.
