Point being they are not using LED bulbs you drop into halogen reflectors, or projectors of the halogen and HID variety for that matter. I have nothing against proper LED projectors. My issue is LED bulbs substituting halogen headlight bulbs, which are neither better nor safer than the halogens they're replacing.
JMO, I would prefer painting my headlight assemblies to match body color, torch red in this case. Carbon fiber does not interest me and if that lowers the cost, so much better. I also could live without clear lenses over the whole assembly, not that necessary to me. I would like to flash to pass without having to raise my lights to do it. So, maybe a couple of options to lower costs and get them to market faster. If they weren't so expensive (to me) I would have already had the Radioflyer lights in my car.
I had HID projectors in a Mini JCW and they were fantastic. First car I ever owned where I didn't upgrade the headlights, because I didn't need to. Most of the time I install E-codes in my cars with high wattage H4 bulbs, but that's not really an option with the C5. Just the euro headlights will set you back nearly a grand, if you can find a pair.

I’ve heard that about the Euro lights. Love to have a pair but too pricey
I just installed mine Sunday, and I'm very happy with them!
There has to be a difference in quality from what George uses and what too many people try, and get burned by on ebay. Still have them in the back of my mind!
Funny, I Googled Depo headlights Corvette C5 to check current pricing and see a set of lights advertised using an old picture of my car which had the original Specter Werkes C5R lights. Looking at the lights in the picture they appear to have 4 fasteners, 1 on each side that may allow removal of lens making it easier to replace the cheap projectors with quality units from TRS or equivalent. Additionally the units pictured show what appears to be a raised portion that may indicate they fit different (better?) than other C5R knock-offs. FWIW, I'm not a fan of round halo on headlights. My point is if you like a design you could replace lighting components to have good illumination and reliability however the case with the vast majority of aftermarket headlights is fitment (gap alignment) with oem body panels.
Upon closer inspection what I thought may be fasteners at 4 locations are likely sonic weld points. Also, these lights viewed in another add appear to have a fairly subtle rise rather than the Depo which I know many do not like. I'm guessing they used another members car in this advertisement?

They are stealing Radioflyer's photo of his Light Cannons. Those aren't the Depo ones at all. Check Radioflyer's site and you will seee that photo on his Light Cannon page.

I knew they were not Depo just thought they were another knock-off. However I should have known they were not the lights pictured on the car, thanks for correcting me on that.
I have the Breathless Performance lights. Love the design. Radioflyer also offers these Cannon V3. These are the two best kits offered for the C5. Here are a few pics of both. First two pics are my car with the Breathless lights. The red and pewter vette are both sporting the Radioflyer Cannon V3's. Both kits are flush with the body lines of the car.
I’m a pop-up ACA Bi-Xenon kind of guy, but these look so much nicer than the more common frog eyes.
I prefer the pop up lights on the C5, but if I were going to do the fixed lights, I would want to go with the flush mount Breathless Performance or Radioflyer Light Cannon V3s that Stealth02 mentioned. The Titanlightz may be a player, too, but I’m waiting to see actual production versions installed. Of course, these are certainly more money that the Depo or eBay versions.

FWIW, don’t bother with the Ebay versions. Every lighting product I’ve purchased there other than some cheapie LED’s has been a disappointment, especially HID headlight and fog bulbs. Save your money until you can buy the good ones for the pop ups.
