Going to purchase Lemans style headlights for my 99 in the near future. I have an Artic White coupe.....hoping some folks out there are willing to share pics of their Vette if they have done a headlight conversion. Trying to get a feel for different color options and how they look when bolted on car.....any pics to help me decide is much appreciated. Also any advice on something that won't break the bank either is appreciated!
This is not my car, I found it one day and saved it because it looks so nice. There are several different ways to mod the headlights, I think this is the most beautiful and certainly has the lowest airdrag. These mods are not cheap to buy. I did find a mod with the lights mounted in the back and flat covers, I would do either one.

Those are the cheap Depo/C5-R ones that have the most drag of the fixed headlights.
I would not get the Lemans headlights unless you really want that style. The Radioflyer Light Cannons are a much better option. Titanlightz is another option if you don't mind waiting on an unfinished product.
I have the Breathless Performance lights. Love the design. Radioflyer also offers these Cannon V3. These are the two best kits offered for the C5. Here are a few pics of both. First two pics are my car with the Breathless lights. The red and pewter vette are both sporting the Radioflyer Cannon V3's. Both kits are flush with the body lines of the car.

These do look better than 95% of the others I have seen.
I really like the pop ups, but understand the increased drag they put on the car while they are in use.
You don't even have to experience the drag in terms of performance. Drive with them up and on during normal highway trips and watch the gas mileage difference.

I can't stand the aftermarket kit options, but this is by far the best option IMO. The only way to do it is to have it sit flush with the hood.

These are the only non-pop up's I like on the C5 since they are flush with the hood, and have that factory/stock appearance.
I just wish they weren't so damn expensive (Corvette tax) - $1200-$1400. Hopefully some ebay vendors/manufacturers will step in and make a lower cost option for flush-style headlights. I'd be willing to pay $200-$300 tops based on what aftermarket headlights cost for other cars.

To add to Titanlightz being an option, the goal here is to have optimum light output with a completely flush/ oem headlight door fit.
I scanned my headlight door on the front of my car with my FARO arm to aid in making a mold for the lens so that the lens can be as oem fit/finish wise compared to the original doors, compared to the other options out there.

200-300 is NOT going to get you a set of flush mounts that are not going to leak or fit like trash.
1000 is about the max anyone should have to pay. You have to realize the time invested into this kind of change. The R&D in this project alone is substantial. Even radioflyer will tell you this with any of his projects.
