Default My wide body build thread

Well I will preface this post by saying this process has been going A LOT slower than I would have liked, but alas, life happens. Anyway, I'll use this thread to document the wide body transformation of my Machine Silver coupe. An RK Sport hood and duckbill bumper will come in the future but for now I'll take it one step at a time.

I have chosen to use CC 1" front fenders

And L5 Motorsports L5-R 1.25" rear fenders

The quality of both companies' products looks good but naturally there will be a bit of prep work involved with getting them ready for paint. I'll leave that up to my body guy. This set should put me 2" wider in front and 2.5" in the rear. My goals for this build are to make the project appear factory; how I envisioned a C5 Z06 coupe to look if you will. Moving on, here are a few more shots of them together.

The soft contours of both sets of fenders seem to match well.

The wheels I'll be going with are a set of BBS CH's. A little on the heavy side but I have always thought they'd compliment the C5 body very nicely. 18x10 in front and 19x13 in the rear. I'll need to find a business to widen the rears for me (any suggestions?). I was going to use Eric Vaughn Machine but unfortunately, due to complications from knee surgery, he is not currently taking orders Here is a quick shot of the rear wheel in its natural 19x10 state.

That's about it for now. I'll continue to add to here as the project comes together. I hope it will turn out nice. Wish me luck.

Those fenders and quarterpanels are going to look great. It's how the car should have come from the factory.

This is ****. Same combo of flare depth I've considered. The more pics you can get of the process showing detail along the way, especially close ups of problem areas AND areas that are spot on the better. Good luck and thanks!

Should look good, and match well. What size tires will you use?

Hey thanks for all the kind words guys! I will be using a 265/35-18 on the front and either a 315/30 or 325/30-19 on the rear. I’m not positive which width will give me the profile I’m after. I’m looking to slightly stretch the tire on the wheel, which I know isn’t always popular, but it won’t be excessive; just enough.

I would go with 12 not 13" wide.
