2002 Chevy Corvette please help with launching automatic
It’s a 2002. Full headers and exhaust all the way out. With X pipe no cats. Vera ram cold air intake. ECS tune. I have C6 z06 wheels all the way around 18 in the front 19 in the rear. 325 stock tire. And I cannot launch this car at full throttle. Even if I let go of the break and punch the gas I’m smoking the tires from traffic light to traffic light. 30 and 40 mph roll and I’m smoking the tires and kicking out to the side. My tires I believe all of the stock ones the run flats. Definitely need help from you guys what is my best way to get the most traction off the line. Also best tires to use or just better than what I have that aren’t going to break the bank. Because this is crazy.

Dude....get a replacement for the run flats. Running a 325 rear and you are spinning at 30 roll???
Lol, the run flats are like rocks, especially after aging a few years. Go check out the Michelins, Bridgestones and idk maybe the Toyo's? Assuming you are running a stock motor (from what you offered, that is what I am assuming) you should have no issue finding a streetable tire that will hook for you.

Best of luck,

Anything specific. Michelin’s are on there now I believe which was factory but they’re Shot an very old
How are these for a weekend cruising. Highway driving and so on
I never had any issues. I ripped them down the highway to 130 mph like a freight train. I got stuck in the rain a couple times and it was nothing to be concerned about.
You might just have old/bad tires. When I bought mine they had BF Goodrich Drag Radials. They are awesome when new but mine spun way too easy. I replaced them with some lower end summer tires (Hankooks) and I can hook all day from a stop.
I run basicly the same set-up but with a cam. have the same wheels, but with a manual. I also run 325 at the back, but have the michelin pilot sport cup tires and have lots of traction all way arround...
I had a similar issue when I bought my '02 Z06 in 2016. The tires had great tread but the date code was 2006. It was a great excuse to purchase new tires and some cool looking Cray Spider rims. I went with Hankook Ventus tires and really like them. Mid priced skins that hook up really well and ride quietly.
